Weekly waffle
This was quite a tiring week for me. There wasn’t any big events or gigs or anything like that but just a few things that happened that meant I’ve been running on little sleep. I made it to Sunday though and I have nothing to do rather than chill out and play video games with my wife. I even managed to fit in four albums this morning which were Boston by Boston, Chainmail Commandos by Steröid, Reinventing Axl Rose by Against Me! and the new Converge record (for the fourth time this weekend). I often get a weird angst and restlessness if I don’t get to listen to much music through the week so this was a great start to the chill day.
I do have a slight hangover. Mild but persistent. Before today I hadn’t drank for six weeks so I was expecting it to hit me like a train. I suppose I don’t really drink enough these days for that, I think I had about 6 beers, so whilst I wasn’t drunk I did have a nice buzz. This also led to me buying some music on Bandcamp, as it usually does. The new Ossification album and Exorency EP did the trick and scratched that death metal itch. Since I haven’t drank in a while I’ll convince myself that it’s okay to order a takeaway and then I’ll be back on another break for a while.
And so on to the rest of Sunday which will be filled with snacks, music and video games. I might even try to sneak in a nap. This upcoming week looks to be similarly uneventful with not much planned outside of work. I do have a video call scheduled on Tuesday with some good friends which I’m excited for. Maybe I’ll do a similar post next week and we will see how uneventful it all turned out to be.
