Albums of the year update!

Hello!

I, like most people, posted my albums of the year blog towards the end of December.

Here is a link to it Albums of the year 2025

Since then however I have been introduced to, or revisited a few albums that I’ve loved a lot that could have well been in the mix.

So here are three albums that I wanted to shout out because I missed them last time round, Bandcamp links included.

Hails!

First up is Hesitating Lights by Swedish death metal band Floating. It’s not too often you find bands taking death metal in different directions but Floating have incorporated influences from bands like Joy Division and Siouxsie and the Banshees to give their version of death metal a post punk flavour.

Next up is a band I’ve loved for a number of years and it’s Creeper with their album Sanguivore ||: Mistress of Death. Part two of the Sanguivore series is even better than the first in my opinion. These songs live in my head full time. Creeper are out here asking the question, what if a goth rock/metal band was fronted by horny vampires. Excellent results.

Last but certainly not least is Flying on Instruments by Vanessa Peters. This is a wonderful pop/indie folk record that’s both poignant and infectious. Great songwriting and lovely melodies on display here.
