Albums of the year as chosen by users of the Fediverse - 1997
The time has now come to collect and present the results of Albums of the year 1997 as chosen by users of the Fediverse.
There are plenty of great albums from this year that I’ve now come to love retrospectively as I only turned 7 years old in 1997 (Brag?).
Anyway I love doing these posts and getting to hear about music that people love and are passionate about so let’s get into it.
Somewhat expected, this year had the biggest outright winner I think we’ve had for any of the years so far. So out in front by a mile and the winner for 1997 is OK Computer by Radiohead. A worthy winner for sure!
This time round there are no shared spots on the podium with silver and bronze have also been taken by a single album. This time round second place goes to Homogenic by Björk.
Finally for the podium places, the bronze medal goes to F# A# by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. An interesting selection of albums for the three top spots this time round.
That’s not all though, if there was a medal for fourth place, there would be three albums tied with the same amount of votes and those albums are:
