A new weekly meet-up
Having meat space friends is great and all, but I’ve met so many awesome people in various online communities over the years. The best of the bunch however are the people I’ve met since getting involved in the Fediverse in November 2022.
I’ve met a load of great folks that way and continue to make new connections there. I can also legitimately say that I’ve met some of my best friends that way, and whilst we mostly live thousands of miles apart we have started a new weekly hangout that means I get to see them more frequently than people I know offline.
Having a weekly scheduled video call is a really cool idea, whilst we talk on the timeline all week anyway, seeing people and chatting this way has been refreshing and something to look forward to. We’ve even started having an album club style homework because we’re obsessed with music and can’t help it.
Anyway this is just a shoutout to online friendships in their various forms.
